On January 22, 1980 we were born at Rigshopitalet. We were born three months premature and weighed, at that time, only 1200 grams.
In the first three months we were in an incubator and had a lot of check-ups along the way.
Peder lacked oxygen during birth, and ended up being spastic and has been in a wheelchair throughout his life.
We grew up in a small town in the middle of Zealand, and had a great family that supported each other in all kinds of situations.
Peder have never been treated as "different" when he, in our view, only has one handicap, to be a wheelchair user.
As twin brothers, we have lived through good and evil for 33 years so far.
Peder has always have accepted a challenge and always committed to political and business associations, which speaks for the disabled.
Steen has always been very happy to do sports.
Through the years, the family has used a lot of money on sports because his motto on equipment is: DON’T SETTLE FOR LESS
For about 4 years ago, the love fell on the triathlon sport and have ever since filled a lot of Steen’s life, and he has used up to 18 hours a week on it.
In February 2013 , Steen got an idea!
Why not complete a half marathon with Peder?
After a quick call to Peder, who acknowledged with " You're sick in the head " , it was decided that they should run BT's half marathon the 21st of April 2013.
A kind soul , lent Peder & Steen a running chair, and then they trained.
They completed the race in 2 hours and 16 minutes, and after they both agreed that they should do it again..
As Steen & Peder have always said , Steen got the legs, and Peder has the head, the perfect combination for a runner with an iron will.
